| Here
is a list of some useful (or useless)
tips. Got a hot tip yourself? Email
it to me! junkie@photoshopjunkie.com |

| Poly-Lasso |
While
you are making a selection, you can press
"DELETE" to undo your last selection
point. |
| Going
Straight |
While
you are moving an object, hold down
"SHIFT" to either move the object in a
perfect 0, 45, or 90 degree angle. |
| Undo |
Pressing
"CTRL-Z" undoes only one step,
Pressing "CTRL-ALT-Z" undoes multiple
steps! |
| File
Size |
To
avoid large file sizes, go: "File -
Save for Web" and choose either JPG or GIF
as your output option. This can
dramatically reduce file sizes without losing
quality. |
| Big
Screen |
I
personally use this a lot (and because it looks
good on my 21" Monitor :) ), but press
"TAB" once and "F" twice.
Now you have a full screen for selecting or
masking. Press "TAB" and
"F" again to get back to your normal
screen. |
| Selection |
Once
you are done making a selection around the body
or a car for instance, go
"SELECTION - SAVE SELECTION" and name
your selection. Later, if you want to
retrieve that same selection, go "SELECTION
- OPEN SELECTION" and click on your
specified selection. |
| Photoshop
Runs Slow |
To
beef up Photoshop a bit, dedicate more RAM to
it. To do this, go "EDIT -
PREFERENCES - MEMORY AND IMAGE CACHE."
Then up the percentage of how much RAM Photoshop
consumes. I currently have mine set at 75% |
| Creating
Reflections |
Photoshop
7.0 only. If your paint job is lacking
that perfect luster and reflection. Use
the Healing Brush tool and grab your sample from
things surrounding the car (ie: sky, trees, the
car next to it) and then start covering your
subject car with it. Instant blended
reflections! Truthfully, for better
results, I duplicate a copy of the car over the
original, put the reflections on that, then turn
the opacity on that layer down. |
